We’re giving away a spot in Inked Voices' upcoming Middle Grade Fiction First Pages Workshop with Tina Wexler.

1. This spot is for a writer of a diverse background novel related to their experience, frequently shorthanded on Twitter as #ownvoices.
2. Submissions are limited to middle grade fiction.

We're doing this with two goals in mind. First, we want to see more writers from diverse, underrepresented or misrepresented backgrounds get published. And second, we want more readers to be able to see themselves in stories.

Diverse experiences include, but are not limited to: LGBTQIA, Native, people of color, gender diversity, people with disabilities, and ethnic, cultural, and religious minorities (learn more about We Need Diverse Books in children's literature: http://weneeddiversebooks.org/mission-statement/).

This application should take less than 5 minutes. Submit it through October 10th. We'll draw a winner from qualified applicants on October 11th. Learn more about the workshop: https://www.inkedvoices.com/group/pro_group/325/ .
